Trekking to laguna Turquesa – Your first fuegian Summit
Do you want to have alternative to conventionals trekking and avoid buzzy places ? This authentic mountain experience encompasses three of Ushuaia’s most distinctive features: its subantarctic forests, its vibrant lagoons, and its unforgettable views. A less conventional and incredibly comprehensive trekking. In just an hour, we’ll reach a hanging valley and get out the tree line where the Turquoise Lagoon lies. Going up we can already enjoy outstanding views. Discover the Alvear range, part of the fuegian Andes and discover wide peatlands valleys. From Laguna Turquesa we’ll be able to see the Esmeralda Lake, mountains, and valleys. But our adventure continues to Mount Carbajal.
This is when it really starts to be interesting! The real off beaten tracks! We will surrounder Laguna Turquesa following the Gotama Ridge. Then you start another ascent with a complete panoramic view of Ushuaia’ s most iconic mountains, the vastness of its valleys, and its colorful lagoons.
For the return, one we will choose another valley called Olum to enjoy other panoramas and environment. Most of the terrain is peat so it can be really wet in spring or automn. In spring mountain can still be covered by snow so as the lake and the experience can be more challenging. You will need gaters and waterproof trekking boots! A real different way to enjoy the Trekking to laguna Turquesa.
